This series of items is based on the motif of a snowman. The shape of a snowman is formed when the sake cup is stacked on the Tokkuri pitcher. The series includes other unique and playful designs, such as the Toothpick Snowman for storing toothpicks that has a snowman’s head for the lid, and a set of two chopstick rests that form a snowman when stood together.
"Following graduation from Musashino Art University in 1997, he remained at the faculty as a research associate before taking the helm of KAICHIDESIGN in 2004.
His work focuses on enabling everyone involved to live lively, based on design with thinkers, creators, promoters, and users.
Major works include branding for DENSHIRO, HIKIYOSE, and ISUTOKU, product design for KOTORI (h concept) and ECLIPSE (sghr), and interior design for EDITORY.
Accolades include Good Design Award (2004, ’11, ’13, ’14), red dot design award (2010), Design for Asia Award (Hong Kong, 2012), award for excellence at Tokyo Business Design Award 2013.
Past exhibits include A Dream Come True (Milan, 2007), Product Design Today: Creating “Made in Japan” (The National Museum of Modern Art), among numerous others."
