monte & mare
The Monte & Mare, which mean mountain and sea in Italian, are a series of plates in which the compartmentation has been made intentionally vague. The form of the series by designer Ogino Katsuhiko follows the scene of a mountain poking up out of the sea, and adds a bit of deformation, resulting in an unparalleled unique design that allows the food on the plate to create its own scenery, stimulating the imagination of the user.
